Role Overview
TENAS Factory is looking for an Occupational Health and Safety Officer to oversee workplace safety across the factory environment in the Riyadh Region. The role focuses on preventing incidents, maintaining compliance with industrial safety standards, and supporting a strong safety culture throughout the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor how industrial safety rules are implemented across all factory areas, including production lines, warehouses, loading zones, and storage spaces.
- Carry out daily inspections of production halls and work areas to confirm compliance with safety procedures and reduce accident risk.
- Verify that alarms, automatic and manual firefighting equipment, such as fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and smoke detectors, are functioning properly, and keep records of routine maintenance.
- Oversee the correct use of personal protective equipment and ensure workers consistently wear required items such as helmets, masks, gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
- Inspect machinery and equipment from a safety standpoint and report any defects or conditions that could endanger employees.
- Track the use of lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance or repair work on electrical or mechanical equipment.
- Investigate workplace accidents and injuries, identify root causes, and provide recommendations to help prevent recurrence.
- Prepare regular reports for factory management covering safety indicators, incident rates, violations, and completed training activities.
- Conduct periodic employee training on safety practices, fire response, rapid evacuation, and handling chemicals when applicable.
- Supervise the storage and movement of hazardous or flammable materials and ensure compliance with relevant environmental and safety requirements.
- Ensure safety signs and instructions are clearly displayed on floors, walkways, exits, and equipment locations.
- Check workplace ventilation, lighting, and temperature to ensure they meet occupational health and safety standards.
- Oversee emergency and evacuation planning and organize practical drills regularly to confirm employee readiness.
- Coordinate with civil defense and regulatory authorities during inspections or emergency preparedness reviews.
- Review new production plans or newly introduced equipment to confirm safety compliance before operation begins.
- Monitor the safety of lifting and material-handling activities, whether using forklifts or manual handling, and assess risks related to loading and storage.
- Track industrial emissions and environmental pollution resulting from production activities and ensure alignment with environmental and health standards.
- Contribute to the factory’s safety policy and update standard operating procedures from a safety perspective.
- Maintain safety files and records, including incident logs, inspection reports, training records, permits, and emergency equipment maintenance documentation.
- Strengthen workplace safety culture through awareness initiatives, guidance boards, and recognition for employees who follow safety rules.
