Nurse Educator

Position Overview

The Nurse Educator (RN) will be responsible for the development, evaluation, and implementation of training initiatives aimed at Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), and Mental Health Technicians (MHT) at the hospital. This role includes conducting patient nursing assessments and actively engaging in Treatment Team discussions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in assessing and designing staff education programs.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and contribute to the creation of individualized treatment plans.
• Facilitate hospital training activities and monitor compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engage regularly in multidisciplinary team meetings to support integrated patient care.

Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of an accredited nursing program, with RN/BSN preferred.
• Must hold a valid California RN license.
• Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience, ideally in psychiatric or mental health services, including experience in staff education.
• Thorough understanding of patient rights, crisis intervention techniques, complex care planning, and pertinent healthcare laws.
• Proficient in leadership, organization, and communication abilities.
• Competent in workload management, effective collaboration with diverse healthcare teams, and thriving in high-paced settings.
• Exceptional interpersonal capabilities combined with discretion, tact, and resourcefulness.
