Night Hygiene Operative

Role overview

This position is based at the West Devon Abattoir facility in Hatherleigh. The role focuses on keeping the production areas to a very high level of cleanliness during the night shift, with duties rotating across different zones on a monthly cycle.

Complete on-the-job training will be given so the selected person can become fully capable in every part of the job.

Working hours and pay

The rate of pay is £13.50 per hour. The shift begins at 4:30 pm and typically ends around 1:30 am. This is a 40-hour working week, and any hours worked beyond the standard weekly hours are paid at 1.5 times the normal rate.

There are two unpaid breaks during the shift. Casual dress is permitted.

Main duties

The primary focus of the role is cleaning the site’s production areas and supporting hygiene standards across the operation. The post reports to the Hygiene Team Leader.

Training and experience

No previous experience or formal qualification is required because full training is provided to the chosen candidate.

Additional information

The successful applicant must be able to work after 10:00 pm. Sponsorship is not available for overseas applicants for this role.

Work rotation

Responsibility areas are rotated on a monthly basis across different zones within the site.
