Role Summary
The hotel is looking for a careful and guest-oriented Night Auditor to support overnight operations in Luton, United Kingdom. This position is central to maintaining smooth night-time service, ensuring financial records are accurate, and delivering a consistently high standard of guest care.
Key Duties
- Greet guests arriving late at night and assist those leaving early, while maintaining a friendly and professional service experience.
- Complete daily financial balancing, prepare reports, carry out audits, and organize documentation needed for guest departures.
- Review and verify reservation information and in-house guest accounts so records remain correct and up to date.
- Manage guest arrivals and departures efficiently, while supporting property safety and security throughout the night.
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest questions, issues, and service requests.
- Prepare and share reports with the relevant departments.
- Monitor overnight hotel activity and take prompt action to address any operational issues that arise.
- Work with other teams to ensure guests receive a seamless experience.
- Keep the front desk tidy, orderly, and ready for use.
- Prepare breakfast for early-morning travelers.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification, along with strong guest-service and communication abilities. This role also calls for a sharp eye for detail, the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a busy environment, and excellent time management skills.
Comfort working independently is important, as is a solid grasp of finance and accounting basics. Candidates should be competent with standard computer tools and hotel software; experience with Opera Cloud is considered an advantage. The job also requires strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and confidence in making decisions on your own.
Because this is a night role, flexibility is needed for overnight shifts, generally from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including weekends and public holidays. You should also be able to handle cash and process credit card payments accurately, remain composed under pressure, and show initiative across a variety of tasks. Familiarity with local hospitality-related laws and regulations is preferred.
Work Schedule
This is a part-time, on-site role with night shifts typically running from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
