About the Role
Join EY in Auckland as the New Zealand Business Development Leader, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding service to our clients by understanding their challenges and leveraging EY's capabilities to foster growth. This position is primarily client-facing (80%) and centered on strategic account management, revenue growth, and strengthening customer relationships at a senior level across key accounts in New Zealand.
As a market leader, you will also provide sales leadership across New Zealand, working closely with local and global EY teams to shape market strategy and support the firm’s transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sales efforts in the New Zealand market, collaborating with leadership including the Country Managing Partner and Service Line Leader.
- Drive account planning and revenue generation across multiple core accounts while building and sustaining senior-level client relationships.
- Identify client challenges and opportunities, orchestrating EY resources and insights to address them and supporting pipeline management, deal negotiation, and revenue planning.
Required Skills and Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive environment in New Zealand.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage clients and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships internally and externally, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Established business development and sales expertise, with a history of selling complex solutions at the executive level, preferably within professional services.
- Strategic mindset to align with EY's global strategy and capitalize on market opportunities.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development, ideally within professional services, with track record of revenue growth and managing key accounts.
- Strong commercial insight focused on delivering client-centered outcomes across portfolios.
- Ability to manage client expectations and influence effectively at senior levels.
- Familiarity with New Zealand’s market landscape and key competitors.
- Existing networks across key client accounts are advantageous.
- Basic understanding of EY’s alliance ecosystem with partners such as SAP, Microsoft, and ServiceNow.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate clients across different time zones and travel between key offices as required.
