Job description
About the Role
Centorrino Technologies is looking for a Project Network Engineer to join its Projects team in Australia. The role sits in a business that has been acknowledged as a Great Place to Work in 2025 and a Top 5 Inspiring Workplace for 2026, supported by an eNPS score of 68. The team handles demanding network rollouts from detailed design handover through to production, and the work requires independent judgement, technical depth and the ability to adapt quickly to unfamiliar environments.
You will be responsible for delivering client network projects end to end, taking a defined scope and timeline and turning it into a live, stable environment. Some engagements will be routine, while others will place you in complex setups where solid networking fundamentals and quick problem-solving matter most.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive network implementations from detailed design through to production across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN and wireless environments.
- Carry out discovery within customer environments, map existing infrastructure, identify delivery risks and create migration approaches.
- Set up, deploy and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls and wireless solutions across a range of vendor platforms.
- Work closely with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep delivery on schedule and within the agreed scope.
- Manage post-migration stabilisation, investigate cutover problems and hand over to BAU once services are steady.
- Prepare and present network designs, delivery plans and technical advice for both technical audiences and non-technical decision-makers.
- Support process and documentation improvements that strengthen project delivery and operational efficiency.
- Use strong networking foundations to resolve difficult issues in both known and unfamiliar environments.
Requirements
- Proven background as a Network Engineer, preferably in an MSP, systems integrator or project delivery setting.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and enterprise networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, spanning tree, VRRP, LAG/MCLAG and NAT/PAT.
- Practical experience planning, implementing and troubleshooting IPsec and SSL VPN solutions.
- Hands-on exposure to next-generation firewall capabilities including intrusion prevention, web filtering and application control.
- Familiarity with platforms and vendors such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, Cisco, MikroTik and/or Juniper.
- Well-developed analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Australian NV1 Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain it.
- A valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check are required.
Benefits
- Hybrid working is available for most roles, with team anchor days to encourage collaboration.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities to support continuous career growth.
- Access to a wide range of discounts and benefits to help stretch your money further.
- Choice of IT equipment to suit your working style, plus access to cost-price technology for personal use.
- Regular team events designed to celebrate wins and strengthen connections across the team.
