Job description
The opportunity
This position focuses on keeping the public informed about transport network changes and service disruptions so customers can move around the network with confidence. You will coordinate live communications across multiple platforms, including social media, the AT Mobile App, and the NZTA Journey Planner.
The role sits within the Auckland Transport Operations Centre and is central to shaping and delivering the communications response for incidents and emergencies as they happen. Working within the Network Communications team, you will help ensure Auckland Transport and NZTA present clear, consistent external messaging about the transport network.
This is a rostered-shift position with working hours between 5:30am and 9:00pm. Weekend shifts are also part of the job.
What you will bring
You should have around 5 years of experience in communications and/or engagement, or a comparable background such as journalism or marketing. The role also calls for experience in developing and delivering communications and engagement plans.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent practical experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or business. You should also show an understanding of Te Ao Māori, or a willingness to develop that knowledge.
CIMS training is considered an advantage.
