Job Summary
The National Sales Manager role focuses on expanding UMI Coatings’ business channels and increasing sales revenue by building relationships with technical managers, business owners, and key stakeholders within manufacturing, utility, and industrial markets. This position involves conducting market research, forecasting sales, enhancing brand visibility, and driving customer engagement to grow revenues.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement sales strategies aimed at boosting market share, including developing monthly sales action plans targeting manufacturing and industrial leads and ensuring resource coordination for consistent sales outcomes.
- Deliver results by launching sales programs, providing weekly and monthly performance reports, fostering direct contact with prospective accounts to improve closing rates, and preparing accurate equipment and materials quotes.
- Manage the sales process daily utilizing HubSpot CRM for advancing opportunities, collaborate with leadership to refine sales tactics, control budgets related to travel, promotions, trade shows, and lead generation, and support initiatives to enhance the sales process and lead acquisition.
- Engage customers with technical sales support tailored to their needs, increase qualified leads, and collaborate with product development and leadership teams to confirm application requirements and reduce field failures.
- Monitor industry trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to guide strategic sales planning.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency with CRM and business software such as HubSpot, QuickBooks, Monday.com, and Microsoft Office suites.
- Strong leadership capabilities including managing and expanding sales teams, identifying core business sectors, and driving portfolio growth through meeting or exceeding performance indicators.
- Driven by results with an emphasis on achieving sales targets efficiently and ethically, making sound and timely decisions.
- Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships consistently, effectively handling client concerns with professionalism.
- Operational excellence oriented, utilizing analytics effectively, adhering to company policies, and ensuring productive time management.
- Exemplary work ethic characterized by punctuality, flexibility, enthusiasm, self-motivation, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ expertise in technical sales, preferably within the industrial coatings or paint sectors.
- Proven track record managing expansive sales territories with diverse clients, including experience leading sales teams.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in business, engineering, marketing, or related fields.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for establishing and nurturing professional relationships.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently or collaboratively within teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel 30-50% to visit clients and partake in industry events and trade exhibitions.
