Role Overview
We are inviting applications for the role of National Sales Director for Canada, a key leadership position focused on expanding Genetec's footprint across the country. This role reports directly to the Vice-President of Sales for North America and oversees the implementation of the Canadian sales plan, aiming to accelerate revenue growth and broaden market reach across diverse segments. The role demands leadership of a competent sales team, establishing robust partnerships, and sourcing new business avenues.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and implement a national sales approach to boost revenue, increase market share, and secure long-term business prosperity throughout Canada.
- Translate corporate objectives into clear operational goals for the Canadian sales force.
- Guide and enhance a high-caliber sales team by instilling a culture of accountability, cooperation, client orientation, trust, and ongoing development, including succession planning and talent nurturing.
- Ensure attainment of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals across all product categories including SaaS offerings.
- Set clear performance metrics, evaluate sales efficiency, and foster responsibility for sales pipelines, forecasting accuracy, and business achievements.
- Devise go-to-market initiatives aligned with organizational targets and responsive to evolving customer, partner, and marketplace demands.
- Spot emerging markets and new business prospects to strengthen Genetec's presence nationwide.
- Build and nurture executive-level collaborations with clients, channel partners, consultants, industry groups, and key influencers to promote strategic expansion.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, and other departments to optimize business outcomes, support market campaigns, and influence product direction based on customer feedback and market trends.
- Keep abreast of market trends, competitor moves, and industry progress to guide strategic choices and maintain competitive advantage.
- Oversee partner programs, channel engagement practices, project registrations, and best sales procedures.
- Lead forecasting, business plan development, budgeting, territory alignment, and resource management while regularly briefing senior leadership on results and strategies.
- Enforce the use of CRM and other sales technologies to ensure operational excellence, data accuracy, and actionable insights.
- Promote alignment between Canadian market directives and corporate goals, fostering collaboration with North American and corporate teams.
- Authorize strategic account management plans, pricing policies, and commercial tactics that support company goals and growth targets.
- Advocate continuous improvement initiatives and support sustainable growth and organizational change.
- Advance a culture centered on performance and teamwork.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related fields such as Business Administration, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Over ten years of sales experience within technology, software, SaaS, or physical security sectors.
- At least five years in leadership roles managing and developing top-performing sales teams.
- A demonstrated history of surpassing sales objectives and growing revenue streams.
- Skillful in formulating and enacting sales strategies and market entry plans.
- Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and team-building capabilities.
- Experience fostering relationships with senior executives, partners, and critical stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking, sound business judgment, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and negotiation proficiency.
- Based in a major Canadian urban center, preferably Toronto or Montreal.
- Fluent English speaker; knowledge of French considered a significant advantage.
- Possess a valid passport and driver's license with up to 75% travel availability.
Technical Expertise
- Comprehensive knowledge of IP technologies, networking, and enterprise IT environments.
- Experience with cloud computing and SaaS platforms.
- Familiarity supporting solution deployment, implementation, and related organizational change processes.
- Ability to design, position, and sustain complex enterprise solutions and large-scale systems.
- Understanding of system integration, solution architectures, and technology ecosystems.
- Able to communicate technical ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
