Role Overview
The National Pharmacy Key Account Manager will lead sales initiatives and foster strong relationships within assigned pharmacy territories, aiming to enhance brand awareness, revenue, and profitability for the designated product range.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and sustain robust connections with stakeholders in pharmacy banner groups and major chain retailers.
- Devise and execute strategic account plans to meet sales objectives and business goals.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and effective implementation.
- Stay informed of market trends and competitors to spot expansion opportunities.
- Provide senior management with routine reports on account performance and market insights.
- Lead promotional activities and marketing efforts to boost product visibility and sales.
- Negotiate pricing and contractual terms to optimize profitability and market position.
- Conduct periodic business reviews with key accounts to evaluate outcomes and identify improvements.
- Keep updated on industry developments to support strategic decisions.
Territory Management and Planning
- Create and maintain strategic territory plans including key account management scheduling, reviewed regularly with supervisors.
- Optimize customer engagement frequency and reach based on sales potential.
- Establish relationships with medical and scientific KOLs, especially procurement pharmacists, aligned with business unit strategies.
- Represent the company at pharmacy education programs, medical gatherings, and scientific conferences.
- Achieve defined performance targets and maintain budgetary discipline.
Compliance and Knowledge
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of company products, competitors, and industry standards.
- Participate in industry conferences for ongoing therapeutic area education.
- Understand prescribing challenges faced by customers and patient needs.
- Adhere strictly to GDP regulations and contribute to a quality-driven organizational culture.
- Ensure workplace health and safety standards are upheld.
- Stay current with the Quality Management System and group policies, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related discipline.
- At least five years of pharmaceutical sales experience with emphasis on OTC products, pharmacy banner groups, and major chains.
- Documented success in surpassing sales targets and driving growth.
- Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities.
- Proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving aptitude.
- Willingness to undertake necessary travel.
