Role Overview

Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits (DFWS) is hiring a National Accounts Manager for the On-Premise Central Region. This is a remote role based in Texas and covers a defined multi-state territory. The position focuses on growing sales and marketing results for DFWS brands within targeted national and emerging regional chains, especially across casual dining, polished dining, fine dining, and eatertainment accounts.

DFWS, founded in 1981, markets premium wines from major wine regions around the world and has also built a strong spirits portfolio. The company is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut and has been recognized as one of the Top Workplaces in the U.S. for 2022 through 2026. The role reports to the Vice President, NAOP.

What the Role Covers

The National Accounts Manager is expected to build profitable business across key on-premise accounts, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure DFWS brand priorities are executed effectively. The job also calls for close partnership with internal leaders, including General Managers and Regional Managers, as well as distributor partners, national account vice presidents, and directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a Central Region account plan that expands DFWS beer-through-glass and bottle-through-bottle menu placements and supports customized limited-time offers that encourage trial, improve velocity, and increase brand awareness.

  • Focus on the highest-opportunity segments and accounts, identify growth drivers, and build annual tactical plans that deliver more volume and profit.
  • Increase distribution and improve promotional effectiveness through tactics that generate volume.
  • Build strong, senior-level relationships with target accounts.
  • Keep DFWS brand strategy aligned with each customer’s business objectives.
  • Design and activate initiatives that help DFWS outpace national Nielsen CGA benchmarks.
  • Partner across functions to ensure smooth rollout of newly launched national programs.
  • Contribute to customized programming with Brand Marketing teams that supports NAOP sales efforts.
  • Use national account distributor resources effectively to advance account-specific priorities.
  • Drive adherence to required and optional programming through both distributor and direct sales channels so minimum company standards are met or exceeded.
  • Stay current on the on-premise landscape, including trends, new developments, channel strategies, and innovative sales approaches, with support from BI.
  • Work with FP&A each quarter to manage the NAOP regional budget and allocate resources appropriately across target customers.
  • Use fact-based selling and disciplined account planning in day-to-day work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Prior experience in the alcohol beverage industry is necessary.
  • At least 5 to 7+ years of experience selling to on-premise multi-unit operators, preferably national on-premise chains.
  • Existing relationships with national chain buyers are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with brand building and promotional idea generation is preferred.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional teams and working effectively with them.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong fact-based selling, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience handling inventory and allocation.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel 30% or more of the time.

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Career growth and development opportunities.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
