Job description
Role overview
This position is responsible for overseeing a defined portfolio of retail partners for Dior perfumes and cosmetics, reporting into the Senior Commercial Manager. The role focuses on strengthening retailer partnerships, shaping and executing joint business plans, and improving market share, profitability, and brand perception.
Core responsibilities
You will help set the long-term commercial direction for each retailer, build annual plans and budgets, monitor trading performance, improve retailer profitability, manage stock and launches, maintain account health, and lead projects that support business growth.
Strategic direction
Support the Senior Commercial Manager in creating a three-year vision and strategy for the assigned retailers. Review progress each year, confirm whether delivery is on track, and suggest adjustments where needed. Key outcome: a three-year strategy in place for every retailer.
Annual planning
Contribute recommendations for annual budgets and plans that align with the longer-term strategy. Assist in discussions around commercial terms and retail actions such as trade marketing, distribution, and staffing to ensure the right level of investment is secured internally and externally. Key outcome: an approved annual budget and plan for each retailer.
Trading performance
Track trading results on a monthly and quarterly basis, including retail sales, gross sales, net sales, stock, returns, and DSO. Use the data to assess whether performance is on course, propose improvements during the year, and work with other teams to maximise every retail opportunity. Key outcome: delivery against targets for sales, stock cover, and receivables.
P&L management
Drive improvement in the profit and loss performance of the selected retailers in line with the three-year plan. Review spend such as staffing and capex each quarter, and address overspends or underspends to keep profitability on target. Key outcome: operating profit goals are achieved.
Inventory management
Partner with the Operations team to forecast launch quantities for new products. Present each launch to retailers to secure the right level of initial stock, review sales, sell-in, and stock cover each month, and act quickly to resolve out-of-stock issues. Authorise RGAs where necessary and keep the RGA log current and accurate. Key outcome: accurate forecasting, healthy stock levels, and no out-of-stocks during launches.
Account management
Work closely with Finance to monitor payments and overdue balances, escalating concerns to the Senior Commercial Manager when needed. Serve as the main point of contact for communications with the assigned retailers. Key outcome: a clear engagement plan and strong retailer relationships.
Projects
Lead important initiatives that improve business results, coordinating actions across retailers and internal teams to ensure delivery on schedule and within budget. Key outcome: projects delivered successfully, on time and on budget.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings at least three years of experience in luxury goods, cosmetics, or retail, with a proven track record in make-up. A graduate-level education is required, along with a solid understanding of the luxury sector and genuine affinity with Dior products and brand values. Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is expected. The successful person should be ambitious, entrepreneurial, commercially driven, trend-aware, and confident in building growth within the make-up category.
Competency profile
This role calls for strong negotiation ability, effective stakeholder management, sharp analytical thinking, commercial creativity, digital fluency, and operational discipline. You should be able to build agreement, interpret market and financial data, design compelling commercial ideas, incorporate digital and influencer activity, and manage stock and launch readiness with precision.
What the employer is seeking
The business is looking for someone who is resourceful, commercially focused, and comfortable pushing for growth. The right person will combine retailer relationship management with a strong grasp of forecasting, sell-through, beauty trends, and integrated commercial planning across digital, influencer, and event channels.
