Job description
About the Team
Creative Audio is Meta’s centralized audio group, supporting products and experiences across the company. The team partners with product and creative stakeholders to shape audio for video, post-production, final mix and mastering, field recording, sound design, and large-scale content initiatives across devices such as phones, glasses, VR headsets, and AR/MR experiences. This is a large team of more than 60 audio specialists focused on building engaging sound experiences.
Role Overview
The Music Operations role keeps the music pipeline in Creative Audio running smoothly on a daily basis. It ensures music and audio assets are processed correctly, delivered on schedule, and ready for use across Meta products. The position works closely with Music Creative, Operations, Production, Sound Design, Legal/Business Affairs, and engineering teams, and requires hands-on audio technical knowledge for quality control and delivery management. Experience in music industry operations, including distribution, metadata, and rights management, is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will manage the full operational flow of music assets, from intake and QC through metadata entry, delivery, asset management, and publication. You will validate technical quality by checking file formats, structure, loudness, naming conventions, bit depth, sample rate, and metadata accuracy.
You will also maintain operational systems such as DAM platforms, delivery tools, and tracking systems, while coordinating schedules with suppliers and internal teams to keep deliveries on time. The role includes identifying blockers, suggesting process improvements, and implementing approved changes, including automation and AI-enabled workflows where useful.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining the source of truth for catalog data, delivery status, and asset health; supporting rights management and migration work; monitoring supplier quality through scorecards; and escalating repeated issues to leadership when needed.
On the administrative side, you will manage vendor contracts through their lifecycle, process invoices through approval flows, support purchase orders and budget tracking, and partner with Legal and Business Affairs on renewals, negotiations, and compliance. You will also oversee project management tools and workflows, triage incoming requests, track milestones and risks, and maintain dashboards, templates, SOPs, and reporting cadences to keep work visible and organized.
Minimum Qualifications
You should be comfortable using DAWs such as ProTools, Ableton Live, or Logic Pro, and have working knowledge of audio file types, technical audio standards, loudness specifications, and signal flow so you can QC audio for accuracy. Prior experience with contracts, SOWs, purchase orders, or invoice approval workflows is required, along with project management experience covering intake, tracking, reporting, and accountability.
Strong prioritization skills, solid organizational ability, and data fluency are important, especially when working with spreadsheets, dashboards, and operational reports. You should also be able to communicate status, risks, and updates clearly in both written and verbal formats, and have experience using tools such as Asana, Jira, or similar project management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
It is helpful if you are familiar with music metadata standards such as DDEX, ISRC, and UPC, as well as distribution and rights/licensing workflows. Background in music operations, publishing, label or publisher operations, or adjacent fields is a plus, as is experience with DAM or CMS platforms.
Experience with vendor management, budget tracking, and financial reconciliation will strengthen your application. Meta also values candidates who are developing AI skills, using responsible and ethical AI practices, and applying AI tools in ways that improve workflow efficiency and quality.
About Meta
Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. Its products have evolved from Facebook to include Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp, and the company continues to invest in immersive technologies such as augmented and virtual reality.
Equal Opportunity and Accommodations
Meta is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer. The company considers applicants without discrimination based on protected characteristics and also reviews qualified candidates with criminal histories where permitted by law. Meta participates in E-Verify in certain locations and may use AI and machine learning in the hiring process. Candidates who need accommodations for disabilities in the recruiting process can request assistance from the company.
Compensation and Benefits
The base compensation range for this role is $97,000 to $139,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Final pay is based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Benefits are offered in addition to base compensation.
