Role overview

This agency is seeking a versatile Mid-Weight Designer to join a small, fast-moving creative team in North Sydney, Greater Sydney. The role suits a hands-on designer who enjoys shaping brands across a wide range of touchpoints and working closely with account management and creative colleagues to produce polished, high-impact output for multiple clients.

The work spans playful consumer brands such as candy and baking products, as well as more corporate sectors including property, financial services, and B2B insurance. The position begins as an 8-week temporary assignment to cover the holiday period, with a genuine possibility of moving into a permanent full-time role as the team expands.

Key responsibilities

You will take projects from the initial brief through to final delivery, developing visual concepts and executing them across digital and print channels. The role also includes packaging work, production-ready finished art, digital campaign assets, event and activation creative, and presentation design for client-facing materials.

Design scope

Expect to work across packaging for baking products, static and motion content for social media, creative for conferences and activations, and business presentation materials such as PowerPoint decks and Google Slides. You will also help create polished collateral that strengthens corporate communications and pitch materials.

What the role requires

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of design experience, preferably in an agency setting, and can show a portfolio that includes both B2B and B2C work. Strong capability across Adobe Creative Suite is essential, and experience with animation, web design, and Figma will be viewed positively. A solid understanding of print production, dielines, packaging specifications, and the discipline needed for high-end finished art is important. Success in this role also depends on being proactive, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership in a close-knit environment.

Working arrangement

The position is based in North Sydney and follows a 4 days in office / 1 day work-from-home setup. The start is immediate.

Opportunity

This contract is intended as holiday cover, but it may lead to a full-time permanent role for the right designer.
