Role Overview

We are seeking a Metallurgical Technician to join the Metallurgy team at the Macraes Mine, New Zealand's largest mining operation employing 650 people. This position offers excellent career growth and involves conducting laboratory testwork programs to support process plant optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testwork adhering strictly to standard operating procedures.
  • Complete metallurgical test programs promptly and report results using designated laboratory templates.
  • Ensure the precision, quality, and consistency of all test results.
  • Report any issues pertaining to the test work or laboratory operations.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of the metallurgical laboratory and equipment storage areas.
  • Manage data entry and administrative tasks.
  • Report all incidents and hazards via the INX system promptly.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience working in metallurgical or analytical testing laboratories or related fields.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • A sincere interest in the mining sector.
  • Reasonable physical fitness to perform job duties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication skills within a team environment.
  • Possession of a full, clean, and current driver's license with comfort in driving manual vehicles.
