Role overview
Dana-co is seeking a Merchandising Assistant to support its New York team in building and managing product assortments for well-known luxury intimate apparel brands. The role sits at the intersection of fashion, data, and cross-functional coordination, and is suited to someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and interested in trend-led merchandising.
This position is based in New York, NY and follows a 4 days in-office, 1 day remote schedule. The assistant will work closely with teams in Design, Product Development, and Sales to help keep merchandising plans accurate, timely, and aligned with business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Keep merchandising documents, reports, tools, and seasonal assortment charts up to date.
- Study market movement, competitor product launches, and gaps in the assortment to identify opportunities.
- Track fashion direction, color stories, and consumer behavior using industry sources and retail store visits.
- Review sales results and surface insights that can help improve business performance.
- Assist with seasonal merchandising plans and support color management workflows.
- Handle sample movement and coordinate product transfers between teams.
- Work with the Merchandising Manager to maintain accuracy across merchandising files, materials, and deadlines.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel, or a closely related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of merchandising experience, ideally within intimate apparel or luxury fashion.
- Strong ability to analyze information, stay organized, and communicate clearly.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Working familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Comfort managing several priorities in a busy, collaborative environment.
