Role overview
Louis Vuitton Singapore is looking for a Merchandiser to join the Women’s Leathergoods merchandising team and support the South Asia business.
Key objectives
- Steer the Women’s Leathergoods category performance across South Asia.
- Build commercially well-balanced assortments that reflect the brand’s ambitions and strategy.
- Spot growth opportunities for the category and flag business risks early.
- Deliver dependable sales reporting and analysis that translates into clear action plans.
- Oversee the category from a full commercial perspective.
Job responsibilities
General
- Act as the category lead in support of the manager.
- Collaborate closely with internal team members and partner functions.
- Represent the zone category in discussions with central teams.
Sales reporting and analytics
- Prepare sales and sell-through updates on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Take initiative on one-off analyses to uncover new opportunities and issues affecting the business.
- Share detailed insights and qualitative observations with the zone and central teams.
Assortment management
- Participate in four buying sessions each year.
- Develop assortments that align with brand direction, market realities, and sales objectives.
- Manage in-season assortment changes by reallocating product to stores based on performance, emerging opportunities, and activations.
Training and collection launch preparation
- Work with other categories to support end-to-end transversal launches.
- Run additional analyses when needed to identify new opportunities and business concerns.
- Offer detailed feedback to zone and central stakeholders.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with retail, learning and development, digital, visual merchandising, communications, client development, and other teams to deliver category goals.
- Coordinate with country merchandisers and retail teams to grow sales and understand local market needs.
- Serve as the link between the South Asia zone, including each country and store, and the Paris team.
Supply chain
- Work closely with the supply chain team to place the right stock in the right stores and in the right quantities.
- Collaborate on in-season sales forecasts and during buying sessions.
- Communicate category strategy to support aligned stock management.
Retail
- Maintain close contact with stores to gather product feedback, market opportunities, and client insights.
- Equip retail teams with the information and tools needed to hit sales targets.
- Support special events and activations.
Market and competition updates
- Track market trends and competitor moves to provide business context and recommendations to central teams.
- Share market feedback, product needs, and opportunity areas to support collection development.
- Use market intelligence to shape category action plans.
Profile
- At least 5 years of relevant experience is required; a fashion background is preferred and experience in luxury is a plus.
- Strong analytical ability, both quantitative and qualitative, with a commercial approach.
- Able to turn analysis into practical insights and communicate recommendations clearly.
- Advanced capability in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly results-oriented with a real interest in the product category.
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and able to adapt quickly.
- Well organized, structured, and action focused.
- Curious, proactive, and collaborative in a fast-moving environment.
