About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MEP Engineer specializing in HVAC to join our team in Chennai. The primary purpose of this role is to oversee and execute the installation and testing of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems at project sites. You will ensure all activities strictly adhere to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality benchmarks, and project timelines. This position involves close coordination with internal departments and subcontractors to guarantee safety and optimal performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret HVAC drawings and specifications, collaborating with design and execution teams to prevent installation conflicts.
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring the timely availability of necessary materials, tools, and personnel to maintain continuous site operations.
- Track daily progress, verify the quality of equipment installation and duct fabrication.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning phases, including air and water balancing, and functional performance assessments.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, such as installation checklists, test reports, and material consumption records.

- Project & Execution Teams: For work sequencing and coordination.
- Planning, QA/QC & Safety Teams: For schedule adherence, compliance checks, and inspections.
- Design & Engineering Teams: To resolve technical queries and ensure implementation alignment.

Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications
- Minimum educational qualification: ITI, Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a specialized HVAC field.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; a working knowledge of the local regional language is advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in the site execution of HVAC systems for industrial projects, encompassing equipment installation, ductwork, commissioning, and adherence to technical standards.
Technical and Behavioral Skills
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in HVAC equipment installation, ducting, and piping layout.
- Expertise in air and water balancing, chiller, and AHU commissioning.
- Knowledge of insulation techniques.
- Familiarity with HVAC codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
