Role Overview
Fitness Formula Clubs (FFC) is hiring a Membership Sales Director for its West Loop club in Chicago. This full-time, on-site leadership role combines team coaching, membership sales, lead generation, community outreach, and campaign execution. The successful candidate will use strong sales and marketing capabilities to guide the sales team, grow memberships, and support monthly business goals.
Compensation
The role offers a base salary of $50,000, with additional commission and bonus potential.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive the club’s monthly membership sales and net membership targets.
- Operate in line with FFC’s values of improvement, safety, friendliness, superior service, and integrity.
- Create, roll out, and review monthly and quarterly sales plans, while measuring how well sales and marketing efforts are performing.
- Build lead-generation efforts through outreach events, festivals, and similar prospecting activities.
- Support recruitment, coaching, development, and mentoring of the sales team.
- Carry out detailed needs assessments, connect membership features to prospect goals, and invite interested individuals to join.
- Strengthen relationships with prospects through club tours, pipeline follow-up, engagement, and relationship-based selling.
- Keep CRM records, contracts, and forms accurate and up to date in GymSales, including lead sources and lost-sale reasons to improve follow-up strategy.
- Handle membership paperwork and contracts promptly and accurately.
- Take part in community outreach efforts and help produce up to 50% self-generated leads through networking, neighborhood associations, chambers of commerce, business after-hours events, and open houses.
- Build referral business by networking with members and guests and consistently promoting referral programs.
- Support street fairs, expos, outdoor activations, and similar events to capture and follow up on leads.
- Assist with corporate health fairs and help generate new WellFIT leads.
- Stay informed about competing clubs and broader industry trends.
- Complete any other duties assigned by the General Manager.
Candidate Profile
- The ideal applicant should be personable, outgoing, and confident in communicating with members, colleagues, corporate clients, and the local community.
- The person should work well across departments and contribute to the company goal of improving members’ health and overall well-being.
- Prior success as a manager or coach in a target-driven environment is important.
- Strong supervisory and team-development experience is required, with 3+ years in a management or leadership role.
- At least 5 years of sales experience is expected; experience in hospitality or a club environment is preferred.
- Excellent presentation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills are needed.
- A degree in marketing, communications, or a similar field is preferred.
