Member of Technical Staff - Research Engineering (Remote)

Role Overview

We are recruiting a Member of Technical Staff for Research Engineering on a full-time remote basis. The position is aimed at advancing engineering efforts within the Micro1 platform, emphasizing scalable artificial intelligence solutions and infrastructure enhancements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with diverse teams to develop innovative research tools for the next generation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and implement engineering solutions to boost AI model scalability and performance.
• Enhance research pipelines to increase computational efficiency and decrease latency in distributed computing systems.
• Partner with data science and engineering teams to integrate experimental outcomes into production-grade platforms.
• Conduct performance benchmarks and analyze system limitations to support architectural improvements.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of research methods, experimental findings, and technical specifications for stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Expertise in Python, C++, or Rust for developing high-performance computing algorithms.
• Experience utilizing distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Dask, or Ray.
• Strong familiarity with machine learning systems including model optimization and accelerated inference.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of linear algebra, optimization techniques, and numerical computing libraries (NumPy, SciPy).
• Ability to produce clean, well-documented, maintainable code suitable for research and production contexts.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative software development processes.
• Comprehension of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis to design scalable systems.
