Role overview

Dalata Hotel Group is seeking a Meeting, Events & Reservations Agent to join its Dublin hotel team. This position is a strong opportunity for someone looking to build a career in hospitality, with access to internal learning resources, mentoring from senior colleagues, and progression opportunities through promotion from within.

Reporting to the Revenue Manager, the role focuses on driving meeting room sales, handling event and meeting enquiries, and helping the hotel reach its sales budget targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Respond to meeting and events enquiries received by phone, email, and online channels.
  • Prepare enquiry documentation, issue quotations, and follow up with contracts for each business opportunity.
  • Manage, record, file, and distribute all sales correspondence accurately, including contracts, quotations, confirmations, cancellations, and related follow-up actions.
  • Support client accounts for meeting room and event business while ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Post meeting room charges and provide receipts to clients.
  • Keep track of competitor meeting room offers and market activity.
  • Carry out weekly telesales activity to help generate new business.
  • Maintain databases so records stay current and reliable.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly updates on account performance and overall activity.
  • Represent the sales office on health and safety matters during monthly meetings.

Requirements

  • Strong organisational ability with careful attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of around 1 year in event sales or coordination within a hotel or venue is helpful, though not mandatory.
  • Experience using the Opera system is preferred but not required.
  • Background in hospitality is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Customer-facing experience is important.
  • Very good spoken and written English is required.
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities and convert them into revenue for the hotel.
  • Confident selling ability and strong interpersonal skills.
