Role Overview
We are seeking a Medical Writer - Publications to join our expanding Medical Education Communications team. This role involves utilizing scientific knowledge and commercial awareness to develop diverse scientific communications supporting healthcare professionals and clients, while adhering to regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research to understand scientific and strategic aspects of projects including literature review and competitive analysis.
- Assimilate commercial data relevant to therapeutic areas and align content with brand strategy and objectives.
- Prepare various scientific materials such as manuscripts, posters, abstracts, slide decks, MSL materials, advisory board content, and reports with accuracy and clarity.
- Adjust writing style for diverse audiences including primary and secondary care physicians, nurses, and patients under senior guidance.
- Follow quality control measures: accurate referencing, data verification, and proofreading.
- Communicate therapeutic area insights to colleagues to maintain team knowledge and support client interactions.
- Manage assigned projects responsibly by clarifying briefs, timelines, and resources while proactively addressing challenges.
- Engage in continual professional development, provide peer support, seek and incorporate feedback, and contribute to performance reviews.
- Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets and expenses punctually.
- Stay informed on industry, client, and therapy area trends to incorporate innovative ideas into projects.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in medical writing, preferably within an agency setting.
- Knowledge of GPP and ICMJE standards for publication development.
- Advanced degree (Master’s minimum; PhD preferred) in a scientific discipline.
- Strong scientific foundation with the ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas.
- Understanding of clinical trial phases, data presentation, and drug approval processes.
- Familiarity with clinical trial statistical variables (e.g., progression-free survival, overall survival) and measurement scales (e.g., RECIST, EDSS).
- Detail-oriented with an enthusiastic approach to learning and quality writing skills.
- Good grasp of appropriate scientific language and avoidance of unverified claims.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal communication skills, and confidence in managing client relationships.
