Role Overview
The Medical Records and Customer Support Specialist is vital in ensuring prompt handling of medical record requests within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role supports the organization's goal of efficient request management while maintaining strict compliance with privacy regulations, directly aiding patients and providers in accessing health data.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly process medical record requests, targeting a turnaround time of 24 to 48 hours for assigned accounts.
- Operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
- Report to the Processing Manager and assist in overflow processing during high demand or staff shortages.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations, safeguarding Protected Health Information confidentiality.
- Monitor and manage incoming requests received via multiple communication channels.
- Perform general clerical and office duties as needed.
- Address patient inquiries and requests through telephone communication.
- Provide feedback concerning request volumes and recognize emerging challenges.
