Medical Receptionist

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling and manage clinicians' calendars.
• Handle incoming telephone inquiries and direct calls appropriately.
• Register new patients and ensure patient records are maintained accurately.
• Process patient payments and reconcile daily financial transactions.
• Oversee incoming correspondence and perform various administrative functions.
• Assist the clinical team in maintaining an efficient patient flow.
• Deliver a positive patient experience while upholding confidentiality and professionalism.

Candidate Profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a heartfelt desire to help others.
• Excellent organization and time management capabilities.
• Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and professional in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
• Experience with patient management software, especially Med Tec Evolution or similar, is highly advantageous.
• Prior exposure to medical reception or healthcare administration roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with ACC procedures, patient enrolment, recall mechanisms, referral processes, and the New Zealand primary healthcare system is favorable.
• Strong commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
