Job description
About the company
The MSK Institute focuses on diagnosing and treating disorders related to the musculoskeletal system. Its care covers problems involving joints, muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. The clinic commonly manages conditions such as arthritis, back and neck pain, sciatica, shoulder injuries like rotator cuff tears, hip and knee pain, and neuropathy. The organization emphasizes compassionate treatment and personalized care plans designed to improve mobility and overall patient wellbeing.
Role overview
This full-time, on-site position is based at the Auckland clinic and is responsible for creating a smooth and professional front-desk experience. The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients and will support the daily running of the medical office through reception, scheduling, communication, and administrative support.
Key responsibilities
The role involves welcoming patients, handling appointment bookings, answering incoming calls, responding to patient questions, and maintaining a courteous and organized reception area. It also includes working closely with clinical staff, keeping patient information accurate and up to date, and carrying out administrative duties that support efficient day-to-day clinic operations.
Required qualifications and skills
Applicants should be comfortable managing appointment calendars and scheduling systems, and should communicate clearly and professionally over the phone and in person. Prior experience in reception or front-desk work is important, along with the ability to interact well with patients. A working understanding of medical terminology is needed so information can be received and passed on accurately. Candidates should also be familiar with how a medical office operates, stay organized, pay close attention to detail, and be able to handle several tasks at once. Strong computer literacy and confidence using office software are also required, while previous healthcare experience will be considered an advantage.
