Overview
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services and consulting, invites experienced professionals with a strong background in life sciences to apply for the role of Medical Information Specialist based in Mumbai. This non-clinical medical position offers a chance to contribute significantly to healthcare by managing and developing medical enquiry responses within an innovative and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth scientific literature reviews and synthesize knowledge for crafting medical enquiry responses and frequently asked questions (FAQs).
- Lead the creation, review, and approval processes for various medical enquiry documents, including Standard Response Documents, customized responses to unsolicited enquiries, FAQs, and complex off-label enquiries.
- Ensure all medical responses are scientifically accurate, evidence-based, and non-promotional.
- Manage targeted literature searches, interpret data, and handle reference tracking.
- Maintain compliance with global and regional regulations, company standards, and Medical Affairs governance.
- Support the Medical Review process (MLR) for quality assurance of enquiry responses.
- Maintain the medical enquiries content library, ensuring version control and timely updates, responding to clinical data changes, safety information, and label modifications.
- Perform quality checks for scientific rigor, clarity, regulatory adherence, and linguistic accuracy.
- Drive process enhancements, support automation projects, and prepare for audits.
- Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs, demonstrating excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Apply good practices in medical enquiry management and medical information writing.
- Stay updated across various therapeutic areas and understand pharmaceutical industry concepts including regulatory, pharmacovigilance, legal, commercial, and drug development implications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine or a related healthcare discipline.
- Advanced degrees such as PharmD, PhD, or MD are advantageous.
- 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in medical information or related non-clinical roles.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Proven skills in scientific literature review, medical writing, and enquiry response development.
- Strong knowledge of compliance requirements and industry standards.
- Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental interaction.
