Job description

Role overview

NHS Scotland is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and driven professional to join the Medical Equipment Asset Management Team within the Capital Planning and Projects Department. The role supports the operational management of the annual capital LMERG medical equipment replacement programme, with responsibility for helping coordinate delivery, track progress and keep activity aligned to agreed timelines and budgets.

What you will do

You will help monitor programme delivery, support the achievement of milestones and objectives, and ensure work stays within approved financial limits. The position also involves improving existing datasets and creating new ways of collecting data so the department can respond to changing information needs.

What the role requires

The ideal candidate will bring strong organisation and time management skills, along with excellent spoken and written communication. You should be comfortable working independently with limited supervision while also contributing effectively within a wider team environment. The post holder will also be encouraged to build knowledge of medical equipment types to better support asset management and replacement planning.

Equality, application and recruitment notes

NHS Scotland promotes equality, diversity and inclusion across its workforce and welcomes applications from all parts of society. Applicants should ensure their submission genuinely reflects their own experience, skills and motivation. AI tools may be used only for planning, idea generation, or checking spelling and grammar; they must not be used to write application answers. Applications that appear to rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn.

Reasonable adjustments will be provided for disabled candidates, applicants with long-term conditions, and neurodivergent candidates as part of the recruitment process.

There is a legal requirement to have the correct permission to work in the United Kingdom, which must be verified through the UK Visa and Immigration Service. Further details about this requirement are included in the vacancy information.

The employer notes that interest in this position may be high and the vacancy could close early once enough applications have been received. Candidates are encouraged to apply promptly.
