Job description
Role Overview
We seek a meticulous Medical Editor to contribute on a project-by-project basis, working up to 40 hours weekly as needed. Candidates should have a background in pharmaceutical advertising, with deep experience in editing, referencing, and annotations. While several therapeutic areas are applicable, the current primary focus is oncology.
Compensation & Work Details
- Hourly rate: $45-50
- Contractual and project-based with expected availability up to 30 hours per week when assignments arise
- Fully remote work, aligned with Eastern Standard Time business hours
Key Responsibilities
- Proofread and edit promotional and medical materials ensuring accuracy, clarity and compliance
- Annotate source documents and provide references supporting medical/legal/regulatory reviews
- Validate that claims are adequately substantiated and correspond to approved data
- Engage with copywriting teams, account managers, and regulatory/legal personnel to maintain project momentum
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical advertising agency is mandatory
- Extensive hands-on skills in annotation and referencing are essential
- Experience working with healthcare professionals preferred; direct-to-consumer advertising experience is also valued
- Exceptional attention to detail and consistency under tight deadlines
- Ability to operate independently and manage workload on varying projects
