Job Role

The Medical Assistant will play a key role in delivering high-quality care within Equip's eating disorder program. Duties include supporting medical staff through administrative and clinical tasks, managing communication within the care team, coordinating with external providers, and maintaining accurate patient records. This position requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and confidential communication capabilities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform various medical support tasks such as data entry, faxing, scheduling, and gathering priority records from outside sources.
  • Update and maintain patient medical files, including recording vital signs and uploading necessary documentation.
  • Monitor and respond to medical team communications, involving medical staff as needed for patient and family inquiries.
  • Conduct follow-ups on recommended testing to ensure patient compliance with provider guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multiple providers and departments to coordinate care, including communication with primary care and student health centers.
  • Enter patient data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) accurately and efficiently.
  • Support other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation and excellent patient care.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or an equivalent credential is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working alongside medical and clinical staff in a medical assistant role.
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in navigating Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a variety of tasks as required.
  • Positive attitude and effective team collaboration skills.

  • Hourly wage ranges from $19.23 to $24.00 with an additional 15% performance-based bonus potential.
