Job description
Role Overview
Yamama Cement is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support its Power Plant operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will help maintain dependable and continuous power delivery for the plant and residential facilities by carrying out routine, preventive, and corrective mechanical maintenance on power generation units.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep watch over power generation units and related systems to ensure they run safely and efficiently.
- Examine engines, turbines, and auxiliary systems to spot maintenance needs early.
- Execute scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks on power generation assets.
- Handle troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, welding, and mechanical restoration work when needed.
- Check engine rooms and mechanical areas to confirm that operating conditions remain within acceptable limits.
- Take fuel and lubricant samples for analysis and quality checks.
- Assist with planned shutdowns as well as urgent maintenance activities.
- Work in line with safety rules, maintenance procedures, and operational standards at all times.
Requirements
- A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience is needed.
- Prior practical experience in a power plant environment is essential.
- Hands-on exposure to Wärtsilä engines is required.
- Experience with Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel engines is expected.
- Experience with Wärtsilä 18V32 engines is expected.
- Experience with Wärtsilä 12V46DF engines is expected.
- Familiarity with natural gas engines is required.
- Strong background in preventive and corrective maintenance of power generation equipment is necessary.
