Mechanical & Electrical Engineer | High Rise Building

Role overview

Abu Al Naga Contracting LLC is hiring experienced Mechanical Engineers and Electrical Engineers to strengthen its team in Dubai, UAE. The role is focused on coordinating MEP works for high-rise building projects and ensuring smooth integration with all other construction disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works alongside architectural, structural, and civil teams.
• Examine MEP shop drawings, builders’ work drawings, and coordination drawings before they are issued for submission.
• Spot and eliminate clashes by working with coordination drawings and BIM models, with Navisworks or Revit as preferred tools.
• Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and the main contractor to keep MEP execution on track.
• Track site progress and confirm that work follows approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
• Take part in coordination meetings and record follow-up actions.
• Assist with material submittals, shop drawing packages, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate ceiling layouts, builders’ work openings, sleeves, and routing for services.
• Carry out site inspections to check installation quality and compliance with project requirements.
• Support preparation of progress reports, tracking logs, and resolution of technical issues.
• Help coordinate testing, commissioning, and authority inspections when needed.
• Maintain compliance with local authority regulations, health and safety rules, and project quality standards.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in MEP coordination on mid-rise building projects is needed.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, electrical, and ELV systems is expected.
• AutoCAD proficiency is mandatory, while Revit and Navisworks knowledge is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements such as DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and Dubai Civil Defence will be beneficial.
• The candidate should have strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver within project deadlines is important.
