Job description
Role Overview
ABU ALNAGA CONTRACTING is looking for an experienced Estimation & Cost Controller to support its Construction Division. This position focuses on building accurate project estimates, controlling budgets, and tracking financial performance from start to finish so that projects are completed within approved cost limits without compromising quality or efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions using drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Review material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing to build reliable project budgets.
- Assess supplier and subcontractor quotations and contribute to commercial negotiations.
- Track project commitments, expenditures, and overall cost performance against approved budgets.
- Prepare forecasts, cash flow projections, and monthly cost control reports.
- Review and manage variations, claims, and change orders as projects progress.
- Spot cost-saving opportunities and contribute to value engineering efforts.
- Maintain cost records and historical data for benchmarking and future reference.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Procurement Teams, Site Engineers, Consultants, and Clients to support effective cost management.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a closely related field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in estimation and cost control for building construction projects is required. Strong knowledge of construction methods, cost planning, budgeting, and contract administration is essential. Advanced ability in Microsoft Excel and construction management tools is expected. Experience with Primavera P6, CostX, Candy, AutoCAD, Revit, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is highly preferred. The role also calls for excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and reporting skills.
