Role Overview
The Meat Clerk plays a crucial role in performing all responsibilities associated with the position in a professional, accurate, and timely manner. This role emphasizes delivering outstanding customer service to foster loyalty, meet customer demands, and promote a positive atmosphere for both employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all food safety standards, operating procedures, health and safety regulations, company policies, and initiatives.
- Manage ordering, receiving, preparation, and merchandising of meat products aligned with inventory control guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service tailored to customers’ needs.
- Boost sales by actively promoting highlighted products.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of back shop and retail floor areas as per company standards.
- Prepare meat orders requested by customers.
- Assist with department product loss/shrink processing.
- Support training and mentoring of junior staff members.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Capable of working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, and reaching.
