About the Role
Join a team dedicated to delivering excellent customer experiences and fresh food products as a Meat Cutter based in Port Carling, Ontario. This position involves preparing and merchandising meat products, ensuring compliance with company standards and food safety regulations, and engaging actively with customers and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver courteous and professional customer service tailored to customer needs.
- Prepare and package various meat products for sale and display.
- Maintain and merchandize the meat section to ensure it is well stocked and visually appealing.
- Receive meat deliveries and handle special meat order requests efficiently.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations particularly around meat handling standards.
- Perform administrative tasks as necessary to support meat department operations.
- Provide technical training and guidance to new team members and clerks.
- Support the Meat Manager and Assistant Meat Clerk in daily activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of meat department operations and the skills required to maintain quality service.
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma.
- At least one year of relevant meat department experience.
Additional Information
This position is associated with an independently owned franchise operating under the Foodland banner, licensed by Sobeys Capital Incorporated. Employment contracts are with the franchisee, not Sobeys directly. The role may involve minimal travel (up to 10%) and requires adherence to all relevant company standards.
