Position Overview

We are recruiting for two part-time (0.6 FTE) Maternal and Child Health Nurse positions to cover parental leave through August 2027. These roles are based across multiple locations within Hobsons Bay and contribute vital health promotion, early intervention, parenting support, and child development services for children from birth through to school age.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive maternal and child health services to families from birth until school age.
  • Contact families to schedule initial home visits and follow-up appointments.
  • Deliver health promotion, early identification, intervention, and parenting advice and support.
  • Identify at-risk families and coordinate referrals to relevant support services.
  • Maintain thorough records, support service delivery across centres, and engage in professional development activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised qualifications in Division 1 Nursing and Midwifery.
  • Qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing with eligibility to practice as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Experience providing primary health services to children and families, preferably within local government maternal and child health frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, sound knowledge of child development, and ability to work effectively with diverse families and stakeholders.
