About the Role
Steel & Tube Holdings Ltd, a leading steel solutions provider in New Zealand with over 70 years of experience, is seeking a diligent Materials Coordinator to join their Composite Floor Decks Limited (CFDL) team based in Auckland. This permanent, full-time position involves managing the coordination of materials to ensure timely and accurate delivery for CFDL and associated projects, primarily within Auckland and surrounding areas. The role offers hands-on involvement in project logistics and an opportunity to expand commercial knowledge and responsibilities under the guidance of the CFDL Commercial Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure materials are delivered on schedule, aligned with project sequencing and priorities.
- Maintain comprehensive product traceability by managing compliance documentation such as test certificates.
- Oversee inventory including conducting cycle counts, isolating defective stock, and improving stock handling procedures.
- Handle coordination of logistics involving deliveries, in-plant transfers, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Engage with freight providers to negotiate terms and verify credentials of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist with procurement activities, contract administration, and financial reporting as directed by commercial management.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, or inventory management roles.
- Excellent customer service orientation with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable handling numerical and analytical tasks.
- Self-driven with the ability to solve problems effectively and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid full New Zealand driver's license is mandatory.
- Previous exposure to building, engineering, quantity surveying, or contract negotiation is highly advantageous.
