Job Overview

We are seeking a Material Inspector responsible for thoroughly examining all construction materials delivered on-site to confirm they meet RTA standards, approved submissions, and contract conditions. This role requires coordinating testing procedures, monitoring proper storage and handling of materials, and ensuring quality assurance throughout roadworks, bridge construction, culverts, drainage, and utility installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify compliance of incoming construction materials with approved specifications and contractual obligations.
• Inspect and review material source approvals, delivery documentation, batch certificates, and test outcomes before acceptance onsite.
• Collect samples and oversee laboratory and field testing for soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, and other civil engineering materials following established test plans.
• Ensure correct storage, protection, and handling of materials to prevent contamination, segregation, or damage.
• Confirm that suppliers, manufacturers, and testing laboratories are RTA authorized.
• Liaise closely with Material and Site Engineers regarding schedules, approvals, and any issues related to materials.
• Inspect construction activities such as asphalt paving, concrete placement, earthworks, and backfilling to verify appropriate material use and workmanship quality.
• Prepare and submit Work Inspection Requests related to materials and civil works.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing results, and materials for quality control and as-built documentation.
• Identify non-conforming materials, issue non-conformance reports, and follow through on corrective measures.
• Comply strictly with health, safety, and environmental standards during material handling, sampling, and testing activities.
• Monitor material utilization and quantities to avoid wastage or deviation from approved plans.
• Support RTA inspections and audits by providing documentation and site assistance.
• Report daily on site activities related to material inspections and testing status to Material Engineer or Resident Engineer.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience within the UAE construction sector.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE local authority procedures, standards, and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Additional Information
