Role Overview
The Marketing Specialist position is a volunteer role focused on promoting GDG @ Seneca events and initiatives within the campus community and beyond. The responsibilities include planning and implementing marketing campaigns, generating promotional content for social media and campus communication channels, and conducting basic market research to gauge audience preferences and needs. This role requires collaboration with event organizers, engagement with attendees and potential members, and monitoring the impact of outreach efforts to optimize future marketing activities. The position is based in Toronto, Ontario, featuring a hybrid work arrangement with both on-campus activities and remote work flexibility.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities to interact effectively with students, partners, and event participants.
- Enrollment as a full-time student at Seneca Polytechnic is mandatory.
- Capability to conduct market research and assist in developing marketing strategies for events and initiatives.
- Genuine interest in technology, developer communities, or student organizations.
- Strong organizational aptitude and attention to detail to manage multiple campaigns and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Experience with social media platforms, digital marketing tools, or content creation is considered advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate in a diverse team setting while also working independently when required.
