Job description

Role overview

Montgomery Group is hiring two experienced Marketing Managers to shape and deliver the marketing approach for Food, Drink & Hospitality Week (FDHW), its largest event portfolio. The portfolio brings together seven leading events for the food, drink, hospitality and foodservice industries and draws large visitor and exhibitor audiences from the UK and overseas.

The two openings are aligned to different event clusters: one role covers International Food & Drink Event (IFE), IFE Manufacturing and Speciality & Fine Food Fair; the other covers HRC, Hospitality Tech360, The Pub Show and International Salon Culinaire.

These positions suit exhibition marketing professionals already working at Marketing Manager level, with proven strength in campaign delivery, stakeholder coordination and people leadership.

What the role will do

Reporting to the FDHW Portfolio Marketing Manager, you will help increase visitor attendance and improve exhibitor returns by running effective multichannel campaigns across email, web, social, PPC, partnerships and content. You will work across internal teams, outside partners and industry contacts to support commercial growth and deliver a strong event experience.

Because several events run throughout the year, the role requires excellent coordination, planning and teamwork. You will be expected to share schedules, strategy, project updates and best practice, while stepping in to support colleagues when priorities shift.

Responsibilities

  • Build, coordinate, launch and monitor marketing communications so deadlines are met, budgets are respected and event goals are achieved.
  • Meet visitor acquisition targets for the event portfolio and individual brands.
  • Partner with the digital agency to strengthen acquisition and lead generation through paid search, display and paid social activity.
  • Guide and support junior marketing team members, helping them grow in confidence, capability and delivery.
  • Review campaign outcomes and turn the findings into recommendations for future activity.
  • Support website tracking improvements to strengthen reporting and analysis.
  • Manage and refine website content and user journeys to improve visitor conversion and acquisition.
  • Act as a guardian of the brand, encouraging consistent best-practice use.
  • Monitor developments in the industry and marketing landscape and share relevant updates with stakeholders.
  • Report regularly on performance across digital, social, PPC/SEO, partnerships and visitor acquisition, highlighting wins and areas for improvement.
  • Track and control the marketing budget for the brands.
  • Keep a clear view of all campaign stages and activity to ensure delivery runs smoothly.
  • Work with Event Managers and the sales team to support exhibitor acquisition, retention and lead-generation activity.
  • Collaborate with Event Managers on individual projects.
  • Use campaign results, audience insight and market data to continually improve marketing activity and commercial performance.
  • Work with the Data Team to improve the quality and performance of visitor and exhibitor databases, including new database builds, warm-up activity and growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in B2B exhibition or event marketing is required.
  • Strong knowledge of digital systems, marketing best practice and measurement tools.
  • Solid ability to write and optimise copy for digital channels.
  • Experience using digital platforms to create emails, web pages and similar assets.
  • Comfortable producing high-quality work in a fast-moving, high-volume, deadline-led environment.
  • Capable of running a campaign end to end.
  • Able to manage several projects at once while working to tight deadlines and adapting quickly to change.
  • Strong multitasking skills across multiple event cycles.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys working with others on shared projects.
  • Well-developed time management and organisational ability.
  • Experience delivering integrated campaigns across the full marketing mix.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and convert it into practical action.
  • Confident communicator in writing, in person and on the phone.
  • Strong attention to detail and copywriting ability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Creative approach with enthusiasm for finding fresh ways to market events.
