Role Overview
The Marketing Manager for North America will lead initiatives to enhance the brand's visibility, cultivate market demand, and drive commercial success for SGS's testing, inspection, and certification services within the food and agriculture sector. The role encompasses both B2B marketing aimed at leading brands, manufacturers, retailers, and emerging indie brands, alongside B2C efforts focused on recruiting and engaging consumer panelists at three testing sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns that boost SGS’s brand awareness, market demand, and commercial growth.
- Devise targeted B2B marketing strategies for major and emerging brands in manufacturing and retail sectors.
- Lead recruitment marketing to attract and nurture consumer panelists for product testing at multiple North American locations.
- Collaborate with business leaders, lab teams, sales, and global marketing to maintain alignment and ensure consistent messaging and timely execution.
- Utilize diverse channels including digital platforms, social media, events, email, paid media, and industry collaborations to maximize campaign reach.
- Create compelling marketing materials such as capability sheets, case studies, landing pages, advertisements, and promotional content.
- Translate complex technical testing services into clear value propositions for B2B clients and engaging content for B2C audiences.
- Manage and continuously improve digital properties to ensure content accuracy, engagement, and optimized conversion rates.
- Maintain marketing calendars to uphold a steady stream of initiatives across various audiences and business units.
- Support product launches, seasonal promotions, industry events, and claim testing campaigns.
- Develop sales support tools tailored to beauty and personal care clients to empower sales teams.
- Coordinate SGS representation at trade shows, conferences, and industry gatherings.
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics to refine strategies and enhance ROI.
- Optimize B2C recruitment funnels and B2B campaign effectiveness through data-driven methods.
- Contribute to improving marketing workflows, templates, and processes for better efficiency.
- Act as a strategic marketing liaison for Business Line leaders, lab managers, sales, and global marketing teams, ensuring coherent objectives.
- Support urgent marketing needs including rapid recruitment drives and priority client campaigns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related disciplines required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in marketing roles involving product, brand, or category marketing within cosmetics, personal care, beauty, or consumer goods sectors.
- Track record of crafting and executing multi-channel integrated marketing plans that foster commercial growth and enhance brand presence across B2B and B2C markets.
- Expertise in producing diverse marketing content: product documents, case studies, digital campaigns, social media, sales collateral, and event materials.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools such as email automation, SEO/SEM, CRM platforms, and paid/organic social media.
- Strong collaborative skills partnering with Sales, Operations, Labs, Regulatory, and global marketing to ensure messaging consistency and accuracy.
- Capability to simplify complex scientific or technical data into clear, customer-centric marketing messages.
- Understanding of claims substantiation, regulatory guidelines, and trends in cosmetics and personal care industries.
- Experience in performance measurement using analytics and ROI metrics to optimize initiatives.
- Exceptional project management with the ability to handle multiple campaigns and deadlines effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience supporting marketing efforts at trade shows, industry events, including booth strategy and lead management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or advanced certifications in digital marketing.
- Experience marketing to beauty brands, contract manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, particularly in testing, formulation, or product development contexts.
- Background in B2C recruitment campaigns for consumer testing panels focusing on audience targeting and funnel optimization.
Skills & Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in English communication.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, CRM tools, marketing automation platforms like Eloqua and HubSpot, and survey tools such as Qualtrics.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proficiency in both strategic planning and hands‑on execution of marketing campaigns.
- Experience in regulated industries including knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes is advantageous.
- Strong writing and storytelling prowess tailored to technical marketing.
- Data-driven approach to optimizing campaign outcomes and recruitment metrics.
Travel & Compensation
- Travel requirements range between 5% and 33% of time.
- Annual salary range expected between $100,000 and $115,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
