Their mission emphasizes delivering outdoor activities to offer responsibility, purpose, and inclusion for people with dementia, envisioning a green care farm accessible in every community.
Position Overview
The Marketing Lead will collaborate closely with the CEO and dedicated team members to develop and manage the organization’s communications through social media and newsletters. The role involves sharing updates, fostering public engagement, and maintaining a vibrant online community, all while supporting personal growth and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, implementation, management, and enhancement of social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, maintaining consistent branding using Canva templates.
- Stay informed about organizational news, member activities, and developments in dementia care and agricultural fields to feed content creation.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to organize posts and strategies effectively.
- Assist in crafting and executing social media strategies to boost community engagement.
- Regularly upload and share content related to programs, events, and initiatives.
- Engage with followers by monitoring comments and questions, fostering connections within the care farming and dementia communities.
- Participate in biweekly creative meetings to guide content direction.
- Utilize social media analytics dashboards to track and interpret engagement metrics.
- Help manage communications responding to media inquiries as needed.
- Create marketing materials and newsletters aligning with the organization’s mission.
- Manage monthly newsletter creation using MailChimp, coordinating content integration from social platforms.
- Ensure all communications empower people with dementia and promote supportive resources in a compassionate and approachable voice.
- Collaborate with team members to share and promote all marketing efforts effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Passion for social change and innovative support for those with dementia.
- Alignment with the benefits and philosophy of care farming.
- Proficient in Canva or equivalent drag-and-drop design tools with a keen design sensibility.
- Experience creating and managing digital content and familiarity with online platforms is essential.
- Background in communications, graphic design, content creation, writing, public relations, or social media marketing is highly beneficial.
- Strong writing and communication skills with an ability to craft engaging and visually appealing content.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, self-driven, and able to work independently.
- Flexibility in scheduling with ability to periodically update and adjust content.
- Positive, team-oriented mindset and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a dedication to delivering high-quality results.
- Interest in social enterprise, dementia care, outdoor activities, and farming/agriculture.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development.

Work Schedule and Location
This volunteer role requires approximately 2-5 hours weekly, offering flexible scheduling. While primarily virtual, with work possible from anywhere in Canada with internet access, there are occasional in-person community days at the farm near Milton, Ontario, which is an advantage for local candidates.
