Job description
About Great British Chefs
Great British Chefs was established in 2010 with the aim of bridging the gap between home cooking and professional culinary expertise, while showcasing the country’s leading chefs. The platform now includes more than 200 chefs and over 6,000 recipes, along with guides, articles and videos designed to help food enthusiasts learn, experiment and cook with confidence. The team works closely with chefs and food writers to create inspiring content that celebrates the diversity of British food culture.
The Role
Great British Chefs is hiring a Marketing Executive to support the Marketing Manager and work across social media, editorial and client operations teams. The role is focused on helping deliver the wider marketing strategy, with priorities around growing membership, strengthening brand visibility and keeping the community of food lovers engaged.
You will handle a mix of in-house and client-facing marketing work, including email campaigns, content coordination, competitions and events. The team is small and fast-moving, so priorities may shift from week to week. One day may involve helping with a nationwide BBQ challenge, and another may be spent supporting an influencer event or shaping a client campaign brief. The environment is collaborative and open to new ideas, and your input on campaign concepts and creative direction will be encouraged.
This position also offers access to the company’s in-house test kitchen, where chefs regularly develop and refine recipes.
Responsibilities
- Help deliver the annual marketing plan, especially initiatives that increase membership and grow audience reach.
- Plan, build and manage weekly newsletters and customer journeys, including content coordination with the editorial team and lifecycle email delivery.
- Work with the client operations team to execute campaigns such as copywriting, email creation and competitions.
- Oversee competitions from end to end, including prize sourcing, asset collection, landing page setup and winner selection.
- Assist with client events, including communications, planning and invitation management.
- Run paid advertising campaigns across Meta, TikTok and Google.
- Monitor channel performance, prepare reports and share regular insights with the wider team.
- Support additional marketing projects such as cookbooks and studio hire.
- Contribute ideas during team brainstorms for brand and client campaigns.
- Manage community engagement, including activity for the Cookbook Club on Facebook.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a marketing role with proven end-to-end campaign planning and delivery.
- Practical experience using email marketing platforms.
- Excellent written communication ability.
- Strong analytical thinking and comfort working with performance data.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to handle several deadlines and projects at once.
- A proactive, upbeat and enthusiastic working style.
Desirable Experience
- Interest in, and knowledge of, the food industry.
- Familiarity with analytics tools used to measure digital performance, including social, email and Google Analytics.
- Exposure to paid advertising management on Meta, Google or TikTok.
Location and Working Arrangement
This is a hybrid role based in London, with 3 days per week spent in the Kennington office.
Compensation
The salary range is £28,000 to £30,000, depending on experience.
Diversity and Inclusion
Great British Chefs states that it values diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity, and is committed to building a team that reflects a range of backgrounds, perspectives and skills.
