About the organisation
Waipapa Taumata Rau | The University of Auckland is home to the Faculty of Science, the university’s largest science faculty and one of the top 90 science faculties globally according to QS World University Rankings. About the opportunity
This is a collaborative marketing role for someone who enjoys turning ideas into clear campaigns, content and stories. You will help promote the Faculty of Science in a busy, purpose-led environment where relationship building and hands-on delivery both matter.
You will partner with academic and professional teams to deliver marketing and recruitment activity for varied audiences. The work spans campaign planning, social media direction, promotional content and event support.
This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week on a 6-month fixed-term secondment basis.
The salary range for the position is NZD 73,400 to 79,000 per year, depending on experience and skills.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute marketing activity across digital, print and social platforms.
- Prepare clear creative briefs and coordinate work with advertising and creative partners.
- Assist with the promotion of programmes, events and wider faculty initiatives.
- Help develop social media direction and increase audience interaction.
- Organise photography, video and other promotional content assignments.
- Work with university stakeholders to keep messaging aligned, clear and effective.
- Bring forward new ideas and support ongoing improvement efforts.
About you
You are an organised and confident communicator who can translate complex information into engaging content. You should be comfortable managing several priorities at once, maintaining strong working relationships and keeping work moving to deadlines.
Experience in marketing, communications, advertising or campaign delivery will be useful, along with exposure to digital marketing, social media and content production. Working with agencies or external suppliers would be an advantage. Experience in a tertiary, public sector or large complex organisation is also beneficial.
