Role overview

This contract position is for an onsite Manufacturing Business Analyst in Mannheim, Germany. The role suits an experienced technical professional who can bridge business needs and technology delivery in manufacturing and related operational environments.

Technical and functional profile

  • A strong IT background is required, with at least 8 years of hands-on experience and a clear technical foundation in engineering or technical project delivery.
  • The ideal candidate should be comfortable influencing and negotiating with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Experience in technical problem-solving, consulting, and business analysis is essential.
  • The role also calls for the ability to interpret data trends to support cost reduction and service improvement.
  • Practical knowledge of configuration, customization, deployment, and package building for releases is expected.
  • Hands-on experience integrating interfaces with enterprise applications is required.

Core responsibilities

  • Study manufacturing processes, production data, and operational workflows to uncover opportunities for improvement.
  • Collect, clarify, and document business requirements from teams in manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
  • Create dashboards, KPIs, and reports to track production efficiency, inventory levels, downtime, quality, and OEE.
  • Support digitalization and automation programs across manufacturing operations.
  • Perform root cause analysis for production and process issues.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to simplify workflows and raise productivity.
  • Prepare business process documentation, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing and the rollout of manufacturing system enhancements.
  • Turn operational metrics and data patterns into practical recommendations.
  • Maintain compliance with operational standards, quality processes, and regulatory obligations.
  • Partner with product teams to help shape the roadmap and introduce new product ideas.
  • Support the product team in delivering workplace and communications products.
  • Handle new feature requests through experimentation, testing, deployment, and transition to service teams.
  • Help guide on-the-ground facilities teams during system upgrades and enablement activities.
  • Document solutions and maintain knowledge base articles and run books.
  • Oversee provisioning and deployment activities while providing technical guidance during project execution.
  • Keep implementations standardized, scalable, and aligned with service strategy.
  • Ensure project processes remain structured, transparent, relevant, communicated, and properly documented.
  • Analyze IoT data to generate insights that support data-driven decisions.
  • Build data models, analytics approaches, and dashboards for IoT initiatives.

Experience expectations

  • More than 8 years of practical experience in configuration, customization, and deployment is expected.
  • The candidate should be capable of building deployment packages.
  • Experience with enterprise application interface implementation is required.
