Mandarin to English Interpreter (No Experience Necessary)

Position Overview

We are currently inviting bilingual individuals fluent in both Mandarin and English to join a paid remote interpreter role. This opportunity includes a comprehensive paid training program, designed for candidates with no prior interpreting experience, aimed at preparing them for live interpretation sessions.

Training Details

• Three-week paid training program
• Remote participation
• Live sessions for 2 hours daily from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. California (US) time zone
• Additional 5 hours daily for homework and assignments, also compensated
• Total engagement of 7 paid hours per day, summing to 35 hours each week
• Continuous coaching and support throughout

Role Requirements

• Availability for a full-time remote role commencing at 7 a.m. California time

Hiring Process

Applicants will follow a multi-step process including resume submission, a client application review, and a two-part language fluency testing (English test followed by a Mandarin test upon passing the first). Note that these tests assess language proficiency without strict right or wrong answers.

Guidelines for English Test:

• Use only a laptop or desktop computer—mobile or tablet devices are not allowed
• Ensure reliable internet to avoid disruptions
• Listen attentively and follow all instructions precisely
• Close all unnecessary applications or browser tabs to prevent disqualification
• Prepare pen and paper for notes
• Respond exclusively in English
• Use rich vocabulary and construct complete, lengthy sentences

Restrictions

Hiring is not available for applicants located in the US, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, China, Nigeria, Myanmar, or India.

Compensation

Participants in the training and subsequent interpreting role will be compensated at a rate of 11 USD per hour.
