Job description

About the Role

UDig is seeking a senior growth leader to drive revenue in retail and distribution. This position is centered on relationships: the right person will already have strong connections in retail or distribution and the ability to convert those relationships into new business, then expand from there.

This is a business development role rather than an account management position. The focus is on winning new enterprise logos and creating traction with prospects where you already have credibility. UDig grows primarily through referrals and reputation, not cold prospecting, so the relationships you have built over your career are a key part of success here.

The company takes a consultative approach rather than a transactional one. Engagements are sold around measurable business outcomes, not hours. Each opportunity begins with the client’s objective and is shaped into scope, team, and approach with delivery leadership. The role also includes telling UDig’s story in a market that is increasingly being shaped by AI-accelerated, agentic delivery.

Location and Eligibility

This is a remote-friendly opportunity for candidates in most parts of the United States. Candidates located in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, or New York cannot be employed for this role.

What You’ll Do

  • Turn your network and market reputation into new retail and distribution clients.
  • Win new logos through relationships, referrals, and partnerships.
  • Position every opportunity around the client’s business goal, such as speed, adoption, revenue, or risk reduction, and work with delivery leaders to shape the scope and solution.
  • Present UDig’s value proposition in executive-level discussions, especially around closing the last 20% of the platform gap that software platforms alone cannot solve.
  • Grow the relationships you establish into broader buying groups and larger opportunities.
  • Own a bookings target and keep the pipeline managed with strong discipline and accurate forecasting.
  • Build trusted credibility with CIOs, CTOs, and EVPs of IT as a peer in modernization, platform adoption, and post-implementation strategy.

What You Bring

  • Established connections in retail, distribution, or retail-adjacent industries, including buyers and influencers who know your work and value your perspective.
  • A proven record of opening, growing, and maintaining enterprise accounts that you have personally managed to multi-year and multi-million-dollar outcomes.
  • A growth style built on relationships and referrals, where strong delivery leads to new introductions and broader opportunities.
  • At least 8 years of experience in consultative business development or client leadership within a digital product, technology, or consulting services organization.
  • The ability to explain why outcomes matter more than hours and to communicate that clearly to a skeptical buyer.
  • Comfort discussing enterprise IT and transformation topics, including modernization, agentic delivery, and adoption, without needing a solutions engineer in the room.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, pitches, and industry events.

Why UDig

  • UDig positions itself as a focused alternative to large systems integrators, with senior talent, faster cycles, and accountability for results.
  • The company delivers with AI rather than around it, using agentic development and AI-accelerated engineering to shorten cycles and strengthen outcomes.
  • Its approach is grounded in real modernization and delivery results rather than presentation-heavy selling.
  • With two decades of relationships and delivery experience, clients tend to come to UDig and stay with it.
  • The company offers hybrid and flexible working, 20 days of PTO, 8 holidays, a birthday day off, a work anniversary day off, and a $1,500 annual learning budget.

Compensation and Benefits

The good-faith base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $250,000 USD. Final pay will depend on the candidate’s skills, relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The stated range reflects base pay only.

This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include a cash bonus, along with a comprehensive health and financial benefits package. UDig does not use salary history when setting compensation and will not retaliate against applicants who ask for the salary range or decline to provide prior compensation details.
