Manager/Engineer - Tunnel Mechanical (TBM)

Role Overview

The position involves full responsibility for maintenance, refurbishment, and operation of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and associated mechanical equipment. The role demands leadership in supervising mechanical work related to mining, ring building, pipe extension and cutter head intervention tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and refurbishment activities for TBM and mechanical equipment ensuring optimal operation.
• Manage mechanical workforce engaged in mining, ring building, pipe extension, and cutter head interventions.
• Supervise the cutter repair workshop including welding, cutting, and grinding jobs within the mechanical workshop.
• Maintain comprehensive site records regarding cutter head interventions, refurbishments, and repairs.
• Draft and evaluate method statements prior to client submission.
• Track project progress on site, including manpower deployment and equipment utilization.
• Ensure adherence to job safety analyses and compliance with safety regulations on site.
• Coordinate activities with other departments and subcontractors to facilitate smooth operations.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Proven success in delivering large-scale tunneling projects punctually and within budget constraints.
• Deep knowledge of tunnel design, TBM operations, hyperbaric interventions, and geological risk assessments.
• Experience with tunneling software and data analysis tools.
• Strong grasp of contractual, financial and operational dimensions of tunneling projects.
• Excellent construction execution capabilities specific to TBM and tunneling environments.
