Manager/Engineer - Survey (TBM)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manager/Engineer specializing in survey operations related to Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM). The candidate must have hands-on experience with both TBM tunnel and New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) surveys and is expected to manage an independent section at the project site.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform centre line marking for newly proposed tunnel alignments.
• Conduct comprehensive cross-section surveys and close traverse surveys using modern surveying instruments.
• Handle total station devices such as Leica, Sokia, Topcon, and South, as well as digital theodolites, auto levels, and handheld GPS units; manage data downloading and plotting.
• Execute road alignment and leveling operations, volume calculations, and curve settings as part of survey duties.
• Supervise and assist junior team members in PCC and RCC works involving drainage, pipelines, sewage lines, and underground treatment plants.
• Collaborate and liaise effectively with clients and essential project stakeholders.
• Ensure strict compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) procedures during surveying activities and fieldwork.
• Monitor and conduct scanning surveys and quality inspections related to marking, leveling, and construction layouts.
• Read, interpret, and apply relevant engineering drawings and plans.
• Accumulate and analyze data from precision measurements encompassing length, angle, elevation, area, and volume, including horizontal and vertical control surveys for construction layouts.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong and clear expertise in traverse surveys, tunnel profiling, AutoCAD, and NATM tunnel survey techniques.
• Previous experience working on tunnel projects employing NATM methodology in the survey field is essential.
• Proven experience in handling modern surveying instruments and software for data management and plotting is required.
