Job description

About the Company

Sembcorp is a Singapore-headquartered provider of energy and urban solutions. With a clear focus on supporting the global shift toward cleaner energy, the company develops sustainable energy offerings and urban projects by drawing on deep industry knowledge and a strong international presence.

Role Overview

This position calls for a detail-focused finance professional who has practical experience in financial planning, reporting, and daily finance operations across regional markets. The role requires someone who can manage finance workflows accurately, produce timely reporting, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate should be dependable, mature, and well-organized, with the ability to partner closely with business teams and group functions to support reporting, compliance, and finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with regional business stakeholders across Southeast Asia and Australia to support annual budgeting, monthly reporting, and forecasting cycles, while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare and coordinate quarterly reporting submissions, including assembling accounting papers for internal review and onward submission to Group and external auditors.
  • Provide practical support in resolving accounting and finance queries raised by regional finance teams when needed.
  • Assist with tax reporting and compliance work, including preparation of data and coordination on transfer pricing matters with Group Tax and regional stakeholders.
  • Oversee treasury and cash management tasks such as monitoring cash balances, coordinating banking matters, and helping ensure adequate funding for business operations.
  • Offer hands-on support for finance due diligence in M&A activities, including compiling financial information and reviewing underlying supporting data.
  • Support finance work after acquisitions or during expansion into new markets, including acquisition accounting such as purchase price allocation and integration of finance processes and reporting.
  • Improve and maintain finance controls, processes, and documentation so they remain consistent and compliant.
  • Take strong ownership of deliverables by ensuring outputs are accurate, complete, timely, and followed through until outstanding items are closed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree-level qualification in Finance and/or Accountancy is required; CPA or CA qualifications are preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, FP&A, and Big4 environments is required.
  • Prior hands-on exposure to SAP S4 HANA and/or Tagetik is an advantage.
  • Experience with data uploads, validation, and reconciliation within finance systems and across regional submissions is needed to maintain consistent financial information.
  • Willingness to travel when required is expected.
  • A strong team orientation, with proactive follow-up to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Clear ownership of responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, pressure-driven setting.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities, with a collaborative approach.
  • A business-focused, calm, and mature style when dealing with work and stakeholders.

Culture and Working Style
