Job description
Role overview
MaintainX is a leading AI-driven platform for maintenance and asset management, used by more than 13,000 customers such as Duracell, Shell, Cintas, and Brenntag. Backed by $150M in Series D financing from Bessemer Venture Partners and Bain Capital Ventures, the company has raised $254M in total and was included in the Forbes 2025 Cloud 100 list of top private cloud companies.
The Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO) for Professional Services owns the centralized PMO that supports the successful delivery of enterprise client projects. This position defines, builds, and rolls out project management standards so engagements are completed on schedule, within scope, and in line with customer expectations and business objectives. The PMO leader also improves operating discipline across delivery, supports the handoff from sales to delivery, and helps create a service model that can scale and repeat reliably.
What you will do
- Supervise a group of project managers and Professional Services solutions consultants working with enterprise customers.
- Refine and strengthen PMO workflows, methods, templates, and tools to keep project execution consistent.
- Help ensure client projects are delivered successfully with close attention to schedule, quality, scope, and client satisfaction.
- Work closely with Sales, Solutions, and Delivery teams during pre-sales to shape scope, staffing, and planning.
- Track portfolio health and report on utilization, margin, risks, and delivery performance.
- Serve as a senior contact for complex or high-risk client engagements and help resolve escalations.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, capacity planning, and alignment with financial goals and KPIs.
- Encourage knowledge exchange, ongoing improvement, and adoption of proven practices across engagements.
- Coach PMO team members, support their career growth, and assist with onboarding and training new project managers.
- Ensure work complies with contracts, service level commitments, and internal governance requirements.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred. The role calls for at least 7 years of project or program management experience in professional services or consulting, including 3+ years in PMO leadership or people management. A PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification is required, and Agile credentials such as CSM or SAFe are considered an advantage. Experience using PSA platforms like Mavenlink, FinancialForce, or NetSuite OpenAir is highly desirable.
Skills and strengths
The ideal candidate can juggle multiple client-facing projects of different sizes and complexity, lead teams effectively, and build talent within the function. They should understand client services delivery deeply, including financial control, resource planning, and contract adherence. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, along with a client-first mindset. Comfort with project management and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, and Jira is important, as is an analytical approach to process improvement and performance measurement.
Benefits and culture
- Competitive pay with meaningful equity participation.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) / RRSP enrollment program.
- Flexible PTO policy that lets you take the time you need.
- Collaborative global environment with colleagues around the world.
- Culture rooted in the values Smart, Humble, and Optimist.
- Merit-based environment where ideas and effort are recognized publicly.
